Transmission flush?

I have a 2010 mazda 3 with 56k on it, should i get a transmission flush? The transmission fluid is brownish. I have read that getting a transmission flush could cause failure? But iv also read that it you change it every like 30k miles it shouldnt be a problem? But i just got this car so i have no clue if ones ever been done before. So what should i do?

It depends what exactly is involved in my opinion. Back flushing or using high pressure is insane, for the reason already stated above e.g. it just forces all the embedded crud upstream of the filter backwards into places it should have never gone. If it were my car, I could drain it, change the filter, then refill it. To remove the old fluid in the converter, you can shove the feed line to the transmission fluid cooler into an old bucket, then the return line into an bottle of new transmission fluid. With the engine idling, run through the approximate capacity of your torque converter or until the fluid entering the bucket is relatively clean. If you do this do not rev the engine, and do not let the feed line run dry at any point of the procedure.
Remove trans pan, clean pan, replace filter, replace pan, fill with new specified fluid. NO FLUSHING, whatever that is supposed to be. This is a transmission not a cooling system.
Never do a transmission flush. It doesn't make any sense to back flush all the dirt caught in the ATF filter back into the valve body where it messes up the different actuators and pistons that control the gears. Just do a drain and fill. Don't worry about people telling you that the ATF which remains in the torque converter contaminates the new ATF. Either buy the ATF at the dealer or go to Advance Auto and purchase the Castrol Import ATF that states its for Asian vehicles. Are you aware how to check the ATF level? the vehicle needs to be at operating temperature, running and in Park. After draining it put 3.5 quarts in and check it before adding anymore. You don't want to overfill it or it will cause foaming of the ATF and mess up the transmission.
