I just had my transmission replaced oct 2011.the new transmission came with a 3 year warranty/ unlimited miles. I just found out that there is clicking in my transmission and it keeps locking up my tires so it will need to be replaced.A year ago I got hit in the driver side door with a dent in the door and dents in the front fender I never got it fixed because money was tight and the door closed fine. Will that affect my warranty for my transmission? someone said they wont honor a vehicle that looks like it was dented?
i very seriously doubt that by the dent in your door will have anything to do with the transmission warranty ! i had cars before that was dented more then that and the transmission worked great ! i would say the fault lies with the transmission and not the dent !
This is going to be a battle of opinions and you are going to pay for some of those. You have to prove that the accident did not damage the transmission. Otherwise the warranty wont cover it.
It couldbut only if they can PROVE that the accident damaged a component inside the transmission. The burden of proof is on their shoulders, not yours. They must prove that the damage was caused by abuse. Until they do that, you're off the hook. When they say we won't honor the warranty cause it was abused, you just say, prove it.
