Question:

Tudor history fans: how would you feel if you were on the scaffold about to be beheaded?

As you may know, the Tudors were notorious for sending many people to the block. How would you feel if it was you? I mean just the thought of laying your head on the block and waiting for the blow. It's so scary! How would you feel? You'd have to drag me screaming and crying haha.

Answer:

I'd feel teed off.
I'd make sure I had money to give the heads man, he could make your last moments on this earth a total misery. the Duke of warwick was whacked untill his head was turned to jelly by a pissed off executioner.
If I had been sensible enough to provide myself with a little money beforehand, I imagine I might well approach the scaffold drunk as I could be. Normally people were beheaded as a treat, or because of their good social standing. it was considered to be rather less unpleasant than being hanged. Certainly quicker.
Sometimes the first blow wouldn't be enough to take off the head. It might take 2 or 3 blows. After that first blow, with you still alive, the blood flowing to your head and out of the huge gash in your neck- you would still be able to look around and see the looks of horror of the crowds faces. And the excruciating pain as you prepare for the final cut that will take off your head. Truly horrific and barbaric. You will feel fear. Pure fear.
