Question:

Turbo vs. Full Exhaust System?

I have a 2001 celica gt and am debating on what to put in it. Should i put a turbo in it or just a full exhaust which would include, cold air intake, headers and greddy exhaust with high flow cat? which is going to pull more horsepower? i assume it will be the turbo but how much of a horse power difference will there be between the turbo and the full exhaust system?

Answer:

i've got been given a 89 supra rapid had the previous inventory exhaust ripped off and threw on 4 inch catback hi bypass exahustin case you basically want the sound long gone do exactly the mufffler, you probable have been given a competent high quality exhaust so dont take all of it off.
full exhaust would be better as a turbo would stress the engine plus you would have to reprogram computer to get it to run properly. Also you would have to use premium fuel.
The full exhaust would be more beneficial. The turbo would stress the engine way too much, and it would sound better with the full exhaust. the turbo might make your car to the speed you want sooner but it will definitely benefit your engine more to have the exhaust
