i have a wirless keyboard and mouse since my backslash key is messed up any way to disable the non working keyboard( origional)?
I have never actually tried this (and probably never will) for turning a laptop keyboard but it will probably work (I am assuming you are using Windows XP but you can probably figure it out for some other version easily): Get to the Device Manager - Go to Control Panel - double click System - Click Hardware Tab - Click Device Manager button In Device Manager you will see a folder structure for various devices. Click on the + next to Keyboard. You should see an entry for your keyboard. Right click on this and bring up properties. At the bottom of a properties box is a Device Usage field. Change this field to disable and click OK. That should disable your keyboard. However it is possible that the Device Usage field itself is not enabled (because Windows does not want you to disable your keyboard). In that case I have a link below to a program that claims it can disable your keyboard. I have never tried it out but you may want to. The other way to disable your keyboard is to edit your registry. Unless you are a real power user I would not remotely recommend it and won't even bother telling you how. Damaging your registry can make your computer unusable.
Try going into Start Control Panel and see if there's some sort of option there that you can use. I don't have a laptop handy, or I'd find a more definitive solution, but that's your best bet.
