Question:

Unruly 16 yr old daughter, please HELP!?

My 1 priority is creating a healthy, safe and respectful environment for my 2 children, but my 16 yr old daughter has a major attitude! In the past, I have taken away priviledges if she has been disrespectful, but now she is beginning to talk back and using curse words toward me. I don't want to put all the blame on her father who lives in town, but both of my kids have told me that his new wife's children treat their mother like crap. Are my kids picking this up from their father's household? I have a feeling their dad's place is not a good situation, so I went to pick my daughter up yesterday and she shut the door in my face! Her dad thinks I'm on a power play (since I have sole custody), so he's no help. She finally came home w/me, but I don't want to have to go through this every weekend. Dad's house has no rulesno chores. Has this happened to you? If so, what resources are available for teens in this situation?

It shouldn't. If the straightener is good it shouldn't burn your hair or cause smoke at all. I don't use heat on my hair anymore but I used to.
As Rob described, if the metal prong is not too hard, perhaps it could be drilled through to match opposite holes drilled in the elbow. Then run a long bolt through and hold with a hex nut. Or just bend a bar like a cotter pin. I think a tough cord or wire would do the trick. Anything to keep the sleeve from pulling out. (edit) It might be easier just to rebuild some parts of the crank with threaded fittings.
