Question:

Used or rebuilt transmission?

2003 Honda Odyssey with a broke transmission. What is the better way to go. Rebuilt transmission or a used transmission from the wrecking yard?

Answer:

if you are going to pull the old one out and replace it do it once, go with the rebuilt one as long as it has some type of a warranty.
my friend did a used on in his truck a 6months later it went. so he got that rebuilt and has been happy with it for the past year and half
Hey im a nissan car dealer and i can anwser your question simply. i always get trade ins that need a transmission replaced. it is simple when you get a tranny from the junk yard you never know what you are really getting ( could be great or bad), when you buy a tranny that is new you have a warranty on it. i usually put a rebuilt tranny to cut costs into used cars and usually never have any problems with them. so choice is up to you take the risk and save a lot of money or spend a lot and have a piece of mind.
