Question:

Vacuum Question?

Which Vacuum is better...bagless or canister. And I mean cleaning wise. And with Canister, do you have to buy bags? Or with either, do you need to buy anything other than the vacuum EVER?

Answer:

They are expensive but I would get a Dyson if I were you. I bought one a few months ago and it is AWESOME! It has a canister that holds the dust and junk the vacuum sucks up. You hold it over the garbage, hit a button and it all falls out. You never have to touch the crap inside ever. It is easy and super clean. I have had every type of vacuum out there including bagless. I hated it cause it made a freaking mess when you went to empty it. There were also a bunch of different filters...I think 3 or 4 that you had to clean and buy all the time. With the Dyson it has a lifetime guarantee (equal to 100 years) and you never have to buy another filter or bag again! They really are worth the $$$!
I personally think the canister vacs are better but its a personal choice actually. With a canister vac you will never need to buy a bag for it but filters about once a year and belts if they break, any vac you buy will come with more info about its maintenance and upkeep.
Canister. I have had vacuums with bags. What a pain. My vacuum in not real expensive but, it seems to work alot better than when I had a vacuum with a bag. Good luck.
buy a Dyson. my sister has one... and it is THE BEST... ok, so i think you are a little confused with terminology in terms of calling something bag-less versus canister. a canister is not an upright and a bag-less is just a vacuum that does not need a bag. as far as upkeep is concerned, it all depends upon the specific model. look into the price of filters and availability before you buy. reading consumer reviews is always the most helpful. Reviews say canister vacuums are best for those who have a combination of hard wood and rugs, as well as those who plan to vacuum stairs, upholstery, drapes and other above-the-floor items. Uprights, on the other hand, are best for homes with lots of carpeting Upright vacuum cleaners are best for carpet, say reviews, although most upright vacs can also clean bare floors. If you mostly have bare floors with just a few rugs, however, a canister vacuum is a better choice. Canister vacuums are also easier to carry up stairs or to the garage, though they tend to be more expensive than upright vacuum cleaners.
I had both, my vacuum with bags would always get plugged, and when the bag got full, when I pulled it out I always got a cloud of dust as I pulled the bag off. I like my bag-less, because when full, pull out the canister with on button, then another button at the bottom of canister to release the dust door right into the trash, very covenant. Bags I was aways buying them, if that store does not have them I always had to find a store that did carry my type bags. Some canister vacuums have filters that have to be replaced. Mine has a filter that all I have to do is clean once a month let it dry and put it back in.
