If you are actually using VMware, check the FAQs on their siteWhat you are doing is a standard setupYou have your virtual LAN Card connected to the actual LAN card address (Eth0) using the machine configuration when you build your virtual machineIf you did not configure your LAN card on the virtual machine correctly, go to the setup options to change it and restart the virtual machine.
