sounds more like you need to clean out the outlet and it also sounds like they want to charge you for work they're not really going to be doing.remember,with the economy like it is,lots of businesses rip people for work they did'nt do.

The unit that is dripping from the overflow pipe has a plugged primary drainThis is very common because the pipe diameter is small and the flowrate is so low, that you can get mold buildup in the drain pipeI live on the texas gulf coast and have this same problem You can check the line out of the AC unit to insure it's openIf the main drain is plugged, you will have to roto-rooter the main drain line from the attic out of the house.
The reason water is flowing into your drain pan is that the drain for the air conditioner is cloggedYour airconditioner should have a separate pvc pipe at the bottom that takes the condensation that drips from the coils and allows it to run out this pipe through your walls and outside or into another pipeThis drain pipe should have an elbow with a short upright piece of pipe with a capThis is put in so you can clean out your drain pipeRemove the cap, it may be glued on and pour draino or bleach in the pipeThis should solve your problemIf not, run a plummer's snake in the pipeIf you still have a problem then the problem is in the bottom of your air conditioner and you will have to remove the outside panel to get to the accumulation of lint that is at the bottom and is causing your over flow problem.
