Want to update my fan for my cpu, but don't want to get a too big of one.?

Answer:

You want about 48 of insulationIf you all ready have some insulation, install UN faced insulationAll so, make sure that you have plenty of ventilation in your atticNever have the insulation with the vapor barrier facing the wrong wayYou will defeat the purpose of the insulation.
You should insulate to achieve an R-49 rating.
I use a artic cooling CPU cooler, cheap with great performance, I did upgrade to a delta 92MM [90 CFM] fan to over-clock, as the cooler was less than 30.00 the cost of the fan was negligible and was able to exceed 4 - OCCT tested for 2 hours stableThe only other modification I do is lapping the heat-sink base [good for 10C on my last build] and use arctic silver ceramic based [non conductive] thermal goop - over-clocked 955 runs mid 20's idle and 45C - 100 percent loaded, Good Luck.
