Are there other, perhaps better, alternatives to these types of roofs? Can you recommend whether or not I should get a green roof?Does the production, use, or decay of the plants/ trees produce substance that destroy the ozone?

If you have a flat or nearly flat roof and if your roof was over-engineered to take the extra weight, green roofs are fineUnfortunately, extremely few houses can be retrofittedGreen roofs almost always are associated with new constructionIf you can't get a green roof, you can always increase the attic insulation or, if you have a flat roof, paint it to be reflective.
