Question:

What are good front loader's in washer and dryer?

I am looking to purchase a washer/dryer but with such a large varitey I am very confused? Lg's? Kennmore's? Also what store has a better warranty? Sears?

Answer:

Usually the best brands (per Consumer Reports) are Whirlpool and Kenmore (Sears). Whirlpool actually makes most Sears washers, so... Whatever brand you get, look for the energy star rating on the washer.
I swear by my Neptune washer dryer but Sear's Kenmore makes a great front loader as well. Make sure you use the right detergent with your front loader. I use Tide HE laundry detergent. It says HE right on the bottle.
My daughter just bought the Maytag front loader and it does not clean as well as her old top loader. My old Maytag top loader is fabulous. Never needed repair in 20 years of almost daily use. I can't vouch for the front loader. I would look at Epinions on line for some testimonials. I use the site frequently before major purchases.
LGs and kenmore. I just bought Kenmore HE2 Plus. They were both listed high from Consumer reports. The stores shouldnt have different warrenties unless you purchase one. If you take care and install the units correctly the manufactures warrenty should be sufficient.
I just bought an LG and LOVE IT! both are front loaders. the reason front loaders are better is b/c it uses less water, less detergent, spins faster (therefore dries faster) so it's all very efficient and cost effective. i got the full size mountable one (you have to get a mounting kit) so it sits on top of each other. takes up less space, full proof... etc. the only thing is you have to buy HE2 detergent for front loaders. it is less sudsy and you cannot use dryer sheets in the dryers. i got it from Home Depot (they have a 10% off special right now) and i got an additional warranty. it was only 80.00 for an extra 6 years for each machine, so i thought it was worth it.
