Question:

what are good intake and exhaust systems for 2002 acura rsx type s

i was looking at some intakes and exhaust system online but dont know what brand or kind to buy, any suggestions? also maybe what are the pros and cons of getting these upgrades

Answer:

The previous answers sound correct but maybe just check your cables are not getting caught or are too short .Ride safe and watch out for tinlids
theres a lock on the triple tree, usually it would lock it into the full left, if it was locked when it was strait it may just lock it out of left. look for a keyhole at the top of your shock
hey i just got it all done and i got the skunk2 cat back exhaust, with a DC header.with a injen cold air intake this is what my friend recomended for me (he is a licenced acura and civic mechanic)for budget and power. it has provited quite a noteable power gain. the only down fall i can see is the weight from the cat back but the header is lighter than stock and the cold air can suck up water, but all in all worth ithope this helps
For intakes go with Injen. Great customer service and you get the biggest replacement washer fluid bottle compared with Fujita and AEM. No cons other than the fact that you might have to deal with hydrolock and the installation is a pain but these cons apply to all cold air intakes. Don't get short ram intakes (you lose power on hot days!!) or air boxes (you don't gain any noticeable power). For exhaust go with HKS Hi-Power. It's a decent balance between cost, sound and power. I would recommend GReddy or Buddy Club if you also plan on getting a header. Avoid Blistein and Megan - not enough gains and/or poor customer service. Oh and get the 2.5 exhaust, no more no less.
Brand isn't that important on intakes. I use an OKorder short ram since it's cheap and works just as good as a more expensive one. For exhaust it's a little more complicated due to the sound deadening in the muffler, makers cheaping out and using aluminized steel instead of stainless, etc. I think the HKS hi power sounded pretty good on an RSX but it's been a while so I may be mistaking it for a skunk2, dc sports, or megan racing catback. Those are all good too.
