Question:

What are some techniques to prevent bridges falling during a earthquake?

Hello, im during an essay about structural engineering and i need some people to help me, you don't have to everything, just answer this very important question.i have researched a bit about bridges before, and i know that they have to employ arches and triangles, because they are one of the most strongest geometric shapes, also i have read a bit about mass dampers but i'm not so sure about how they workplease guys/gals, i really need an expert on this subject i know a tiny bit about it but i'm still quite confusedi need to know in depth about the techniques bridge builders use to minimize the damages done by earthquakes!

Answer:

SMOKED POTATO RIBS Breading: 6 oz Zatarains corn flour 1 1/2 cups self rising flour 1/2 Tbsp kosher salt 1/2 tsp onion powder 3 Tbsp BBQ rub Batter: 1 each egg 1 cup buttermilk 1 Tbsp BBQ spice 1 Tbsp kosher salt 1/2 cup water ?4 each Idaho potatoes (80 count) DIRECTIONS: 1Smoke potatoes at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cooked internal temperature of 210? FCool in refrigerator 2Slice cooked potatoes and trim down the point of the wedge about halfway running lengthwise 3Cut the potato quarter lengthwise creating a long narrow slightly curved stripFlour, and batter and flour the wedges thoroughly and gently as not to break the strips 4Deep fry in 350 degrees canola oil for 3-4 minutes or until color is a rich golden brownRemove from hot oil and drain for 30 seconds 5Season thoroughly with your favorite dry BBQ rub and serve with barbecue sauce of your choice and sour creamGarnish with fresh chopped chives.
Twice baked potatoes are more upscale and elaborate, but are still appropriate for a barbequeBake the potatoes, slice open the top, scoop out the insides, make mashed potatoes with the insides adding bacon/cheese/sour cream as you see fit, pipe or spoon the mix back into the potato and top it with some cheese if you want and put it back in the over until the top is slightly dried out and twice baked.
use left over baked potatoes and take out the inside and add onion cheese and butterand refill potato skin and bake for 20 minutes really delicious and a good way to use up left over potatoes
I always do thisTake the potatoes, bake themWhen they are done I take them out, cut the top of the potato, take all the guts out of them, put it in a bowl add ranch dressing and a little bit of butter and then i whip itI take the shells of the potatoes(be careful they fall apart, but if they do don't worry when you put the potato back in they will stay together anyways) fill them back up with the potatothen after all that i add cheese and a piece of broccoli on each onePut them back in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or so and then they are doneThey are soooooo goodBelieve me you are going to love them and so won't everyone elseTell me what you think after you make them, I make them for everyone I know and I have won contest for my creativety on them as wellGood luck.
