Question:

What are the elements of Quartz, Hematite, Pyrite, Calcite, Feldspar?

What are the elements of Quartz, Hematite, Pyrite, Calcite, Feldspar?

Answer:

I suppose you'll see more clearly using quartz.
Yes. You must use a quartz cuvette to quantify DNA as the UV light will not completely pass through a plastic cuvette, giving you an inacurate reading.
Yes , I think there is a lot of difference. Because Quartz allows UV to pass through is completely , where as glass ans plastic block UV light and allow only Visible light . DNA is measured in 260nm region and protein contamination at 280nm. In case of bacteria , the absorbance will be because of the cell wall of the bacteria which is primarily compose of proteins(lipopolysaccharides) and peptidoglycan ( poly saccharides) . These have absorbance in Visible region so it doesnot really hinder with plastic or glass cuvette.
