Question:

What are those plastic sheets with the little squares in them for knitting called?

Sorry if that's not explained well. I just can't remember or think of how else to describe it and can't find it online

Answer:

Plastic canvas and it is used for cross stitch. Sold at Michaels, Beverly's, sometimes Walmart.
I dont think they are for knitting but for sewing. If it is the ones I am thinking of they are used to make little pictures and shapes by half cross stitch but cant remember what they are called.
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, it's called plastic canvas, and it's for needlepoint, not knitting. It comes in square/rectangular sheets, and also in circles, stars, and 3D shapes. There's other fabric that's meant for cross stitch, but I've never seen that fabric made from plastic.
It is plastic canvas and comes in sizes of anywhere from 3.5 holes to the inch (just like rug canvas) to 14 holes to the inch to be used just like cross stitch fabric. You can do a half cross stitch like needlepoint or a full cross stitch.
