Silicon is the most abundant element in the earth's crust - this is why most minerals are some form of silicate. Do you mean the types of ore minerals: Sulphides are very common ore minerals found in porphyry and other large deposits. Copper, zinc and lead ores are usually in the form of sulphdies Oxide ore is found near the surface where the sulphide has been oxidised by exposure o the atmosphere. Iron ore is usually in the form of oxides. Native elements like gold are another kind or ore. Or do you mean types of ore deposits? This is much to big a question for this forum.
