Question:

what can I do to heighten my chair?

I purchased a upholstered, swivel, rocker from Goodwill. The problem is, it sits too low. I avoid sitting in it because it's a real chore to get out of it! I've tried spinning the four legged base like an office chair. I can't think of anything to prop it up with that will look nice and keep it functional. Does anyone know of an inexpensive method of heightening the base?

Answer:

Try buying a chair cushion. The cushion would make the chair more comfortable. Also it might increase the height of the chair based on the thickness of the cushion. Chair cushions don't cost much if you don't get the really fancy ones. But don't buy one if the chair is really small, because it won't help much. If the chair is too small to heighten with a chair cushion, take the chair to a wood shop or to a place like that. Tell them the details of the chair's base and and legs. Then if should be fixed.
