Question:

what can i do with quartz rock i found in my backyard?

i found some quartz rock in my backyard i took them in my house and cleaned themcould i like sell them or somthing

Answer:

There are two primary ways for a rock to be weathered- physically and chemically. Physical weathering breaks the parent rock into smaller and smaller pieces. Chemical weathering changes the identity of the substance. Quartz generally does not weather chemically. Feldspar, whether it be potassium, calcium or sodium, alters into clay. So does biotite. Biotite is very soft and offers little resistance to physical weathering. Feldspar and quartz are quite resistant to physical weathering because they are hard.
A three part question - by the way. Well.
Quartz goes to smaller bits of quartz. K-spar goes to clay (kaolinite). Biotite goes to iron-oxide and iron-hydroxide materials (as you said) and maybe also some clays (depending on the environment).
