what colours match with lime?

Answer:

You could make lemon bars only make them lime. I like them lime-coconut. Here's the recipe I use (where it says lemon juice, just substitute lime) INGREDIENTS * 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour * 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar * 3/4 cup cold butter or margarine * 4 eggs * 1 1/2 cups sugar * 1/2 cup lemon juice * 1 teaspoon baking powder * 3/4 cup flaked coconut DIRECTIONS 1. In a bowl, combine flour and confectioners' sugar; cut in the butter until crumbly. Press onto the bottom of a lightly greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, lemon juice and baking powder until well mixed. Pour over crust; sprinkle coconut evenly over the top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
Sounds so good I'm going to try this tonight!! Key Lime Cookies INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1 egg 1 egg yolk 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1 1/2 teaspoons grated lime zest 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg, and egg yolk until smooth. Stir in lime juice and lime zest. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into the creamed mixture. Form dough into 1/2 inch balls, and arrange on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Sift confectioners' sugar over cookies while still warm.
I don't have the recipe here- It's a Lime Curd Cake from Cake Mix Doctor. I've made it 4-5 times and it's wonderful. It's just a layer of lime curd in the middle of a white cake. It's the perfect blend of sweet and sour. She has a website but doesn't post many recipes. You could search allrecipes for a similar recipe.
I don't have a dessert recipe, but some other ideas for holding onto that deal - juice limes, freeze juice in ice cube trays, then store in plastic bag. You can use one lime square at a time. Other uses - drinks! Make a limeade by squeezing 1 cup of lime juice, 1 cup sugar (you can make it into a syrup by heating with some water if you want), add water. Use in margaritas, Sangria or Coronas! Squeeze lime juice over fish then set fish fillet on bed of lime slices to bake in oven. Yummm!
