Question:

What difference does it make where the pipe enters the muffler in an exhaust system?

I want to make my small block V-8 loud. I am thinking about some Flowmaster Super 40‘s. My problem is that I don‘t know if it makes a difference when the exhaust pipe enters the middle or on either sides, and whether it goes out the middle or either sides. Does it make a difference?

Answer:

i would have to say the JP bit.
I LOVE the Sprenger bits and think they're worh the extra cost.
It makes no difference at all.
doesn't make a difference. they have the different set ups for certain pipes and certain cars. some cars have the muffler situated so the exhaust pipe can only enter the far side of the muffler. others have enough room for the pipe to go down the middle. all depends ps. try magnaflow instead of flowmasters. they sound good but rob your horsepower
