Question:

What do I do about my pallet expander that I've had for 1+ year?

I've had it for more than a year because we haven't been able to make payments on it. I talked to their manager and they want more money on top of the money we owe on top of the money it costs to have them remove the braces. My mouth bleeds frequently and the sides of my mouth are quite cut up. Tongue also is pretty messed up. I don't know what to do. We don't have the money to pay them.

Answer:

Most of the expanders do not touch the roof of your mouth, so you should be fine. The RPE (expander) will feel very bulky and annoying at first. You will talk kind of funny, but eventually you'll get used to it. The process of cementing it on might be a little uncomfortable, but after that it shouldn't hurt at all. Good luck!
Well, I got mine over a month ago. It should be fine. The expander doesn't even touch the roof of your mouth. It doesn't really hurt getting it put on. But, it is so annoying after you first get it. I pretty much wanted to rip it out. It was hard to eat. But, after about a week or maybe less, you get used to it. I barely even notice it. When I first got mine on, I was also on here asking some questions about it. How to deal with it. And a lot of people told me they just got used to it and forgot it was even there in the first place. I could not believe them. But, they were right! You get used to it. It becomes no big deal =D Good luck!
