My mom and sister has always opened the meat package and wrapped it in aluminum foil and put it back in the freezerWhy do they do this?Do I need to do this with my meat? What would happen if I don't?Thanks!

the thin wrapper (cellophane) isn't thick enough to protect your meat in the freezerAnd the padding that underneath that soaks up the raw juice is not good to keep raw meat on.
