Question:

What do you do with a crane birds?

A family of cranes are at my house they are attacking my ducks and im scared they will kill them

Answer:

If your ducks are running loose and not in a wildlife proof pen, you are just asking for them to be harmed, harassed or eaten by just about anything. Keep your ducks in a safe place and you will not have a problem. ALL wild native birds are protected by law and definitely have more rights to be in nature than domesticated ducks do.
where do you live
call fish and game or animal control. if they are on your property and are injuring or frightening your own animals, l am sure you are within your rights to take the matter in your own hands. harrass or chase them until they decide they don't like your property and leave on their own. l watched one kill a grebe on my local lake and fly off with it. l had no idea they would attack waterfowl. l think most states allow you to protect your private property from predation by wild animals. as long as they aren't whooping cranes (which they most likely are not), as soon as hunting season arrives (or sooner!), they may be edible... whooping cranes are the only federally protected ones. should a family of those arrive, consider yourself fortunate. but protect your ducks.
There is little you can do other than take steps necessary to protect your ducks and wait until the Cranes decide to move on. Or you can call you local wildlife organization and see if something can be done to relocate them by someone with a license to do so. Most Cranes are endangered and/or protected species. If you do anything at all to harrass or harm them, you will be breaking the law and could end up with a healthy fine, jail or both.
