The western whooping cranes population migrates through the great plains to coastal Texas and the eastern whooping crane population migrates from Necedah National wildlife refuge in Wisconsin to Florida.The scientific name of the whooping crane is Grus Americana. Black-crowned crane is near threatened because of the pet trade.
