I have a AEG Airsoft gun and It does not have a fuse on it.What will a fuse do to it and what should I expect it to do to the Airsoft gun's performance?Does the motor size determine anything?
A fuse is just like a wire with a little resistance. When it gets hot it melts. What that does for a motor, is when it's drawing to much amperage it will blow the fuse before it blows a motor. Chances are if they didn't put one in there already you don't need one. Little motors will burn out if they get jammed, but it usually takes a while. :o)
Thanks for the question, we're glad to help out. Everyone gave pretty good answers to this one. The fuse is there for protection of the motor and electrical components of the gun. If there is a problem it will burn out before any other electrical parts do. If your gun doesn't have one, you probably don't need to worry too much. Most manufacturer's will only install a fuse if they think that the end user will be upgrading the battery, motor, etc. Entry level AEG's usually don't have a fuse because most users keep the gun as is and will get an intermediate or higher end model when it's time to upgrade. Also, the motor size will determine how well the gun performs and the rate of fire. I hope this helps.
