what exactly is a catback exhaust system and how is it different from any other performance exhaust system?
starts at catalytic converter, not a full exhaust from the header
A cat back exhaust is just that. It's the section of the exhaust that goes from behind the back end of the catalytic converter. The term cat back is used so to make it clear to the buyer that they are not getting a full exhaust from the manifold back. It is nothing to do with cat bypass pipes for which the cat back section would still be required. Cat back systems are typically described as performance cat back exhaust so there is no difference.
A catback is the portion of the exhaust system that begins at the rear of the catalytic converter and ends at the back of the car. Typically, this section is composed of a length of pipe, a resonator, another length of pipe and a muffler. Some people choose to do away with the resonator or muffler if their exhaust manifold or catalytic converter dampen the sound of the engine sufficiently. If it's an 'exhaust system' then it's most likely the entire system, engine to back or headers to back, while a catback specifically refers to everything After the catalytic converter.
Polyester no I don't think so I would not try that
Yes BUT on a low setting and with a pressing cloth.
