What flowmeter can not be placed horizontally?
The area of the annular gap is proportional to the rising height of the float, i.e., a certain height of the float represents the magnitude of the flow. When the floater moves up and down, it passes the position to the external indicator in the form of magnetic coupling, so that the pointer of the indicator moves along with the float, and the pointer linearly indicates the magnitude of the flow value with the aid of the cam plate.
The float moves upward, and at one point the weight of the float is balanced with the gravity of the float. At this point, the area of the annular space between the float and the orifice (or cone) remains.
A metal tube float meter can not. A metal tube float flowmeter is a variable area flowmeter, that is, in a vertical measuring tube of a flow meter, when the fluid flows upward through the pipe.
