Question:

What happens after a puppy eats insulation?

My 14 week old Labrador ate some insulation - I was wondering what could happen after she ingested itShe was fine when she was put in the crate for the night, but when she woke up this morning she couldn't even standShe mysteriously has a sore leg that she can't walk on just 24 hours later ( she never injured it.) is very weak and lethargicI just returned from the vet he gave her pain meds and said she must have injured herself in someway (which is impossible, since she is supervised 24/7) Could the insulation have done this to her? What else do you think it could be?

Answer:

If you didn't tell the vet about the insulation ,you'd betterAll the pain meds can have a side effect of stomach bleeding, and so could the insulationThe vet needs to know that this occurred It's not always immediately apparent that a dog has an injury, just like it's not with peopleShe might not have seemed to be in pain if she hurt her leg at the moment it happened, but as it swelled, it became painful Young dogs injure their legs and knees oftenSo it could be that She could also have fiberglass splinters in one of her feet if she ate some of it, right? She must have stepped on it at some point in playing with it.
If it is spelled out in the contract you can probably break the lease and move but you will have trouble forcing the landlord to make the correction unless you can prove it is a health or safety issue Good Luck
