Question:

what happens when lightning strikes a house?

i am writing a story about the triangle shirtwaist factory fire. at the beginning, the house that my main character lives in is struck by lightning, what would happen to the house? it is the early 1900's so the house could have gas rather than electricity, how would that change the effect of the lightning strike?

Answer:

Since you are the owner, you could be sued in the event of a fire. Most commercial buildings are required to have alarms and a sprinkler system. A phone call to your local fire department or Building Code office can answer the question. It would also be in your best interest to contact your insurance company.
a good installer would have burned off oil on new heat strips once it burns off you ll be alright installer should have done that when installed
