I am an ibanez person and i'm looking for a good ibanez guitar with fixed bridgei currently have an ibanez rg470 with the floyd rose, i am looking for a guitar with a fixed bridge because, for anyone who owns a guitar with locking tuners and a floating bridges knows, it is insanely difficult to re-tune your floyd rose, and the floyd rose doesn't handle well getting low tuningsi like to play anything from blues to metal and my rg470 works great for anything in standard or e flat tuning, but after that its just a pain to re-tune it all the timeso i want a guitar that can handle anything from drop d to open c tuning, and that has good metal sound
Before addressing the Ibanez models with fixed bridges, you do have the option of installing a tremol-noThey stabalize the tremolo system and can turn your tremolo into a fixed bridge with a few turnsHowever, I understand your plight with retuning your bridgeSomeone mentioned the ART Ibanez guitarsWell, they are fixed bridges, but that is a semi hollow body, and if you are playing an RG470, you are probably looking for a solid bodySo, they do have RG models with fixed bridgesMy favorite is the RGT42DX with a fixed bridgeThey make both fixed and floyd modelsAnother great Ibanez is the SZ lineIts a neck thru guitar, gibralter style (fixed bridge) and string thru body modelEither guitar will handle you tuning issues, however the RGT42DX is a total shred machineIf you want to look into other brands, the ESP/LTD MH series has some great fixed bridge models as well as neck thru, as does SchecterGood luck with the purchase!
