im not quite sure what you mean by there's no path east of cerulean cuz its been too long since i unlocked everything. but what you could do is try to go north up route 15 and 14, then the snorlax wont be there to block you're way. then you can use pokeflute on the snorlax blocking the way to diglett tunnel and go through that. having cut is good cuz it makes it easier to get out from the other side cuz there so many trees. now you can head south to viridian, and then south to pallet town hope that helped ^_^
You have to go through Diglett's Cave to Pewter City, then head south to Pallet Town.
Pallet Town is south of Viridian City 1. Go to Reception Gate 2. Go East 3. Keep going 4. Now you're in Viridian City 5. Go South 6. Keep going 7. You're in Pallet Town I hope this helped! :)
You have to head to Vermilion City and go to where there is a cave. A Snorlax could still be blocking the entrance. If Snorlax is blocking the entrance then you'll need the PokéFlute which I'm assuming you wouldn't have so if you don't have it then you'll have to restore power to the Power Plant. First go to the Power Plant which is east of Cerulean City and talk to the Manager who is in the back. He'll tell you that they're missing a piece so the Plant is inactive. Head back to Cerulean and go into the Gym and you'll encounter a Team Rocket member. He'll run off so follow him. He's on the Nugget Bridge which is North of Cerulean City. After you defeat him, he'll run off. Next head back to the Gym and go to the opening that's by the top left of the pool. Interact with the life rings or life tubes there and you'll receive a Machine Part. Take it back to the Power Plant's Manager and power will be restored. Now go to Lavender Town and head into the Radio Tower there. Go talk to the person in the brown. He'll upgrade your Radio so that now you can play the PokéFlute music however you can only play this music in Kanto. Now return to the Snorlax that's blocking Diglett's Cave in Vermilion City. Go right up to it. Now go into your Pokégear and select the Radio icon. You'll have to manually tune into the PokéFlute station and it's basically in the top middle of the tuner. You'll see PokéFlute at the top of the Pokégear once you locate the right area of it. Once you do that, exit it out of the Pokégear by using the Exit button which I believe is the B Button and then the PokéFlute music will still be playing. Interact with the sleeping Snorlax and it'll wake up and you'll have to battle it. After you capture it or defeat it, you can now go through Diglett's Cave. Once you go through Diglett's Cave until you come out through the other entrance, you'll be in a Route that's close to Pewter City which means you can head South in order to get to Pallet Town.
