Rear axle? It will get differential oil on you brakes. Probably the front ones too on that vehicle. Depends on the type of front axle/outer bearing style. If it's leaking enough for him to see it, get them BOTH replaced on that axle. You don't what to run out of oil! Besides no brakes, bearings will seize then differential. Big bucks then!
