Unless the stone is religious I believe you have the wrong topic, yahoo and there bad placement of questions. though if you wanted an answer I would place it in sunlight still.
Use a rock tumbler. Its noisy as all hell, sure, but the rocks come out all smooth and shiny.
You can. You can also run it through incense smoke. Or just set it out in the sunlight without the water. Or bury it for a few days.
Just show em some love and they'll work fine. Leave em out in the breeze and let the wind, rain and sun cleanse em. Treat em as members of the family, they'll appreciate it. I usually use rocks that I find on the ground.
You can leave it in the salt water and put it in the sun tomorrow. Or you can cleanse it with energy. This shouldn't be too hard since it's quartz. Just hold the stone and envision (eyes open or closed, whichever works better for you) a cleansing white light starting within the stone and growing to cleanse away impurities and leave it ready for use.
