Question:

What is Signal PCB?

My Sound Level Meter was fallen from the tripod and falling apart. The technican who is in charge of the repairing said we need to replace the battery and signal PCB.What is Signal PCB? I hope it is not Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs).

Answer:

Good choice of bike, but not if you cant afford it. The bike will outlast the finance paid on it. The bikes will do around 100,000 miles in their lifetime.
The ninja 250 is a good bike for a new rider, good decision. I would expect a relatively trouble free 30-40,000 miles with good maintenance. My advice would be to buy used and pay cash. Preferably something with under 20,000 miles that has been dropped and selling cheap. because you're going to drop it too. If you store it through winter, get it serviced once at the beginning of riding season, and once in the middle. You're probably going to change the rear tire yearly and the front every other. Make sure to add fuel stabilizer before storing it, and after your first fill up replace the spark plugs. As for financing, you're better off to get a personal loan so you don't have to deal with a lein and full comprehensive insurance requirements. I think that will be your only option at under $5000 anyways. Your auto insurance might go down, especially if you get a multi-vehicle discount.
What your technician was saying is that he can't repair that thing and will simply replace the whole guts of it. In other words: it is going to be expensive. :-)
A printed circuit board, or PCB, is used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways, or traces, etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. Alternative names are printed wiring board (PWB),and etched wiring board. A PCB populated with electronic components is a printed circuit assembly (PCA), also known as a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA). PCBs are rugged, inexpensive, and can be highly reliable. They require much more layout effort and higher initial cost than either wire-wrapped or point-to-point constructed circuits, but are much cheaper, faster, and consistent in high volume production. Much of the electronics industry's PCB design, assembly, and quality control needs are set by standards that are published by the IPC organization.
