I have thick, naturally wavy hair as wellI swear by Vidal Sassoon curling ironsThey've never damaged my hair (if used properly) and they have a variety of barrel sizes to choose fromThe larger the barrel size, the looser the curlI've tried many other brands and have had some disasterous results with themThey don't hold heat evenly or your hair sticks to the barrel or catches in the springsBut never a problem with Vidal Sassoon ironsYou don't need any heat protection lotions (weighs your hair down - yuck) or anything else with these irons.
