I currently have an 80 gallon water heater. The water also goes through a heat exchanger and I heat my house as air blows across hot water pipes. The water heater is going to have to be replaced soon. What kind of options are out there????? Boiler, heater, tankless, I know a lot of new technology has occured since I installed the system.
If you have some property you could use the geothermal method that always keeps your water at a warmer temperature than it would be normally therefore you spend less on heating it. Also Carrier has some amazing heat-pumps that take the heat from the outside air and transfer it to the inside using Puron (R-134a) refrigerant.
