Question:

What is the best setting for a heat recovery air exchanger during winter?

The switch we have has settings for low, intermittent (humidity-controlled, I think), and off. It is winter here in Minnesota (-15 Deg F tonight). I am trying to determine if it is better to have the switch set to low or intermittent. If I set it at intermittent, what percentage should I set it at? Thanks

Answer:

Our air exchange (in Minnesota) is currently set at low. Often the dial will reference the outdoor Temperature and assist you in setting this or it will set it on its own. Obviously this varies from Air Exchanger to Air Exchanger. On low ours seems to be functioning properly and isn't impacting our heating.
10 % With the temp-15 I would not be pulling any air in from the out side. But thats your call.
