there is no fan.it is a cone shaped filter with much more filter surface that is isolated from the heat of the engine by a box,and situated in a position where it will maximize the amount of outside pick up air.it's main purpose is to increase the flow of fresh air,that is relative to the outside air.K..N. air filters make a drop in filter for the stock air box,made specific to each model vehicle.these are not considered a cold air set up,but do offer increased air flow in a life time filter,that provides more air,that is also much cleaner,as they are coated with an oil that stops impurities to pass through.i recommend that you look at what K..N.air filters offer for your application.they have a complete array of products for every application,from stock replacements,to cold air set ups.and all are an improvement over what comes from the manufacture.they have a good web site,and are also available in retail auto suppliers.good luck
I think the viper 5900 is one of the top car alarms it lets you know up to a one mile if you car is tampered with and what is being disturb
