The best way to finish off yarn ends in your work is to use a blunt yarn needle (you can find them in craft stores, they have large eyes so that you can thread your yarn through) and weave the end for a few stitches in one direction, then weave back in the other direction for a few stitches and snip off any extra yarnThis will anchor the yarn and make it quite secure so you won't have to worry about it coming undoneIt also prevents any lumps you'll get by knottingIf you want, you can also use a dab of fabric glue for extra security, but it's really not necessary And yes, Red Heart is machine washable and dryable (it softens up beautifully after washing and drying)Just use a permanent press setting for your cycles to keep the agitation a bit slowerIf you wash the afghan by itself, you shouldn't have any problems with snagging.
