I live in Arizona and have been collecting a lot of quartz specimens lately (snow/milky quartz/quartzite). A lot of pieces have veins of iron ..so they're white with pink or maroon veins. I have found some though that seem to have a pink hue to them that goes deep within the stone and doesn't seem like just oxidization. Is there a way to figure out if this is rose quartz vs regular quartz?
Quartz is classified as a mineral. As a rock it can be an igneous rock, a metamorphic rock, or contained within a sedimentary rock.
