What is the difference between strip steel and silicon steel?

Answer:

Strip steel is a kind of narrow and long steel plate produced by various rolling mills to meet the needs of industrial production of various metal or mechanical products in different industrial sectors. Strip steel, also known as steel strip, is within 1300mm in width, and the length varies slightly according to the size of each roll. The strip is supplied in general, and has the advantages of high dimensional accuracy, good surface quality, easy processing and material saving. Same as steel plate, strip steel is divided into two kinds of ordinary strip steel and high quality strip steel according to the material used, and two kinds of hot-rolled strip steel and cold rolled strip steel according to processing method.
Silicon steel is a silicon iron alloy with silicon content of about 3%~5% and other major iron. Divided into oriented silicon steel and non oriented silicon steel, it is an important soft magnetic alloy in electric power, electronics and military industry. Silicon steel refers to a low carbon silicon iron alloy with silicon content ranging from 0.5% to 4.5%. It is divided into non oriented silicon steel and oriented silicon steel because of its different structures and uses. Silicon steel is mainly used as the core of various motors, generators, compressors, motors and transformers. It is an indispensable raw material for electric power, household appliances and other industries.
The sheet material rolled with silicon steel is the most widely used soft magnetic material in the field of electrical engineering. Therefore, silicon steel sheet is also called electrical steel sheet. Silicon steel sheets are widely used in motors, generators, transformers, chokes, electromagnetic devices, relays and measuring instruments. Influence of silicon content on properties of silicon steel sheet. Silicon is a good deoxidizer for steel. It combines with oxygen to convert oxygen into a stable, non carbon reduced SiO2, avoiding lattice distortion of iron by doping oxygen atoms. Silicon becomes a solid solution in alpha iron, increasing resistivity and helping to separate harmful impurities from carbon.
