Question:

what is the difference??

between a Mobile home (trailer) and a Modular home? does a modular have a real foundation or something? i am just curious to know.

Answer:

probably notthe glaze may have lead in itand the clay or slip may also have metal oxides in it also.
Mobile homes are now called manufactured homes in the industry, partly to differentiate them from RVs and partly in an attempt to disassociate them from their generally more poorly constructed predecessors back when the industry wasn't as tightly regulatedManufactured homes are factory built, have a chassis, axles, wheels, and a towing hitch, and are made to be towed to their destinationThey are setup, often on a permanent foundation, by a small crew generally in a day or twoModular homes are factory built in sections, generally do not have a chassis, and are trucked to the site on flatbed trailers and put into place with a crane onto a permanent foundationFinal assembly and finish can take 2-3 weeksModular homes more closely resemble stick-built homes in appearance and type of components used in manufactureFNMA treats modular homes the same as stick-builtModular homes must meet the same building code requirements stick-built homes do in the area in which they're locatedManufactured homes generally have limitations on where they can be placed, either due to zoning or to CCRsIn general, manufactured homes do not appreciate in value with the passage of time (and many will tell you that they depreciate in a manner similar to cars)Modular homes, on the other hand, can appreciate.
