I have never gardened before and want to start one. I wanted to do strawberries but i'm not sure if that's the best thing to start off with. I will need to grow something is planters boxes. What is the easiest thing I can start with?
Cucumber but the only problem is that the vine grows very fast! Last year I planted one Cucumber vine and got 20+ foot long or longer Cucumbers!
Depends on where you live in the south tomatoes are probably the easiest plant to grow and harvest.
strawberries are fairly easy but not terribly productive grown in containers. A hanging basket of 3 everbearing strawberry plants should yield around 3 to 6 berries a day. Basil is an easy thing to grow as is lettuce.
Strawberries generally grow well but to get them to fruit substantially requires some effort, and a lot of plants. I think when its not scorching the easiest to grow is cucumbers, maybe after that things like peppers or any legume.
flowers: zinnias or cosmos veggies: radishes or Swiss chard
