I have 2002 Florida built homeIt is 2400' A/C 3000' under a hip roofI have had problems cooling my house from day oneI have R-30 insulation in the attic R-11 in the walls a 4 ton, 10 SEER Rheem A/C unitMy thermostat is at 76', but by 2:00pm it's 83' inside EVERY day.May thru SeptemberA/C comes on runs until 9:00pmThe original A/C company has been out every summer They installed larger ducts even switched parts to upgrade my unit to a 12 SEER last yearThey have always maintained the unit is running fineTwo other A/C companies have said the unit appears fine, but the problem still exists.Just found out the 28' of ridge vents were never cut, but the county Building Division says that's not my problem I should buy a new A/CWhat was code for 2002 re: ridge vents? How did it pass inspection w/out being cut?Is 28' even enough for code or proper ventilation?Could this be my problem?
