In truth, radio transmissions really haven't changed from the beginning. The methods have remained the same for a few decades, and only the data format has changed. With all of the collection of garbage in space, it is unlikely that we will be using UHF in bulk in the future, and wireless global comm will be using HF and VHF as a TSSR. However, short range comm will probable migrate towards UHF, since the higher freqs require shorter antennas. Downside to that is that UHF requires waveguides for point to point transmission, not copper, as the attenuation is too great for traditional wires. So in conclusion, thirty years from now we will be using pretty much the same form of communication as today, but in a nicer box.
