Today is Monday and I have had the heating guy at my house 3 times since Friday. It heats fine but the smell is horrible. It's as if something is burning up, the awfullest smell but no smoke. The smell will choke you and burn your eyes and make you sick to your stomach. The heating guy has been through the unit 3 times in 4 days and he says he can't find anything. It is breaking my wallet, he wants to go under the floor next and take out everything, and yes we are taking every precaution to be safe. Any thought s on what could cause this would be helpful, I could at least throw the idea to my heating guy.
Do not run your furnace until it has been repaired or replaced, you could die. Your heating guy is incompetent to say the least. As those above have given the details I will not go into the what and whys. My techs use a fiber optic camera and a co detector on every heating repair or tune up.
was there a motor burnout?.....have him over heat the unit........that will burn up eccessive dust.... many things can cause that smell
