I just ordered some pure silk embroidery floss to use for crewel (not counted thread) embroideryWhat type of fabric would be best to use with these? I have never worked with this type of floss beforeThank you!

Silk floss is usually used for counted thread embriodery, needlepoint or surface embriodery on linen evenweave fabricCrewel work is done with 2-3 strand wool yarn such as PaternayanWorking with silk you will need to keep your hands very soft; if you have dry skin the thread will catch and stick to your fingers.
