The original outfit was made of a tropical wool suiting, plain weave, if I recall correctly; the Mattel version used acrylic in place of the wool, but similar fabricsIt's the stuff nice men's suits are made of, but in a forest green that's going to be hard to find; you might need to consider finding a white or cream and dyeing it with an acid dyeYou might also consider wool challis, particularly for the dress If you're into the deluxe hand sewing experience, try silk thread with theseit would have been traditional for the periodWool fabrics always drape nicely and sew wellThey're probably my favorite fabrics to sew with because they look so goodThe tropical wools are hard twist worsteds made of very fine yarns that feel almost silky to the touch (BTW, felt is not a woven fabric, and not what you want for this project.)
